Softball Returns Home to Face Pacifc

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Kick-off a six-game homestand to end the season, Santa Clara softball hosts Pacific Saturday and Sunday. The Broncos and Tigers play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at noon and end the series Sunday at noon.

Last week Santa Clara played four close games but could only come away with one win. After falling at Stanford 6-5 Tuesday, the Broncos lost a pair of games at San Diego by a total of three runs Saturday before bouncing back with a 7-3 win Sunday.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (12-31, 4-5 WCC) is hitting .251 as a team with a .307 on-base percentage and a .326 slugging percentage. The Broncos have scored 122 runs with 53 doubles, five triples, and seven home runs.

Ellie Fisher leads the way with a .364 batting average and 27 runs scored. She also leads the WCC with 20 steals. Geenamarie Bonilla leads Santa Clara with three home runs, 12 doubles, and 21 RBIs. She has scored 13 runs and is hitting .315. Kelsie Barnard is batting .283 with 18 RBIs.

Micaela Vierra leads the Broncos in ERA (3.50), wins (5), complete games (4), and innings pitched (86). She is second with 21 appearances and 43 strikeouts. Aubree Kim has appeared in a team-high 25 games with 15 starts and is tied with Vierra with four complete games. Kim also leads the team in strikeouts with 46 in 76 1/3 innings. McCall James has tossed 65 1/3 innings with three complete games and Ciara Gonzalez has three saves in 58 1/3 innings.

THE TIGERS
Pacific (21-24, 4-5 WCC) is hitting .262 as a team with a .355 OBP and a .385 slugging percentage. The Tigers have scored 174 runs with 45 doubles, five triples, and 28 home runs.

Sydney Lahners leads the team with a 3.08 batting average and 35 RBIs. She has hit seven home runs and scored 19 runs. Cassidy Gustafson leads Pacific with eight home runs and has knocked in 28 runs while hitting .263. Both Caitlyn Sung and Hailey Reed are both batting .304 with seven RBIs.

Marissa Young has thrown a team-high 106 innings with seven complete games and one shutout. She also leads the team with 73 strikeouts. Young has a 2.77 ERA in 20 appearances. Hailey Reed leads the Tigers with a 2.33 ERA in 69 innings. She has six complete games and two shutouts.

Parking: For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to first pitch. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located on Palm Drive.
