Softball Defeated By Georgia Tech Saturday

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Georgia Tech was too much for Santa Clara softball Saturday afternoon in Northridge as the Yellow Jackets topped the Broncos 11-0 in 5 innings.

Georgia Tech (19-10) scored a run in the first before exploding for six in the second and added four more in the bottom of the fourth despite getting just five hits on the day thanks to 12 free passes.

Lilly Hooper and Kendall Chadwick both collected two RBIs while five other Yellow Jackets added one each. Kelsey Chisholm drew a team-high three walks and scored two runs.

Naomi Dickerson (5-3) went the distance and allowed just three hits with a strikeout.

Santa Clara (4-22) got singles from Kelsie Barnard, Sarah Ellersick, and Katherine Sanchez to account of its offense.

McCall James (0-4) started and went 1 1/3 innings while getting the loss. She allowed five runs on two hits with four walks and a strikeout.
