SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball is right back out on the road for a midweek game Wednesday at Sacramento State at 4 p.m.
Last week, the Broncos fell to Fresno State at home before being swept in the conference-opening series at BYU.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (5-27) is led on offense by Hannah Russell and her .284 batting average. Russell is second on the team with 13 RBIs and has three doubles. Eleni Spirakis had a team-leading 14 RBIs and is hitting .244 with 10 runs scored. Ellie Fisher leads Santa Clara with 17 runs scored and 14 stolen bases.
Aubree Kim leads the Broncos in appearances (22), starts (14), innings pitched (70), and strikeouts (43) while tossing two complete games. McCall James has appeared in 14 games and made five starts with a complete game while throwing 38 2/3 innings.
THE HORNETS
Sacramento State (20-11) has won four in a row and six of seven. The Hornets are hitting .300 as a team with 47 doubles, 18 triples, and 18 home runs while scoring 166 runs on the year.
Zamari Hinton leads the way with a .411 batting average and has scored 26 runs to go with 13 RBIs. Suzy Brookshire is hitting .402 and leading the team with 11 home runs, 40 RBIs, and 31 runs scored. Nene Alas bats .352 and leads the team with eight stolen bases while scoring 25 runs.
Celina Matthias has appeared in 23 games in the circle and made 16 starts with 13 complete games and five shutouts. She also leads the team with 120 innings, 120 strikeouts, and three strikeouts. Savanna Corr has appeared in 15 games and mad 12 starts with three complete games, covering 67 1/3 innings while fanning 36.
