SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball hosts San Diego Saturday and Sunday in a three-game series in the DICK'S Sporting Goods Conference Home Opener. First pitch is scheduled for noon both days, with Saturday featuring a doubleheader.
On Wednesday, the Broncos dropped a pitcher's duel at Sacramento State 3-1.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (5-28, 0-3 WCC) is led on offense by Hannah Russell and her .289 batting average. Russell is second on the team with 13 RBIs and has three doubles. Eleni Spirakis is tied for the team lead with 14 RBIs and is hitting .247 with 10 runs scored. Ellie Fisher leads Santa Clara with 17 runs scored and 14 stolen bases.
Aubree Kim leads the Broncos in appearances (23), starts (15), innings pitched (76), and strikeouts (47) while tossing three complete games. McCall James has appeared in 14 games and made five starts with a complete game while throwing 38 2/3 innings.
THE TOREROS
San Diego (23-17, 2-1 WCC) is hitting .267 as a team and has scored 155 runs. Taylor Spence leads the team with a .390 batting average, 29 runs scored, and 16 stolen bases in 17 attempts. Kailey Hill's six home runs and 31 RBIs lead the Toreros and she is hitting .325 with nine doubles and 13 runs scored.
Halle Kyler has started a team-high 17 games and also leads with 107 1/3 innings pitched while posting five complete games and a shutout. Delaney Heller leads the team with 29 appearances and has tossed 86 innings. Kyler and Heller are tied with 65 strikeouts. Hannah Boos has a team-best 2.60 ERA in 80 2/3 innings with five complete games and one shutout.

Parking: For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to first pitch. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located on Palm Drive.
