Four Softball Players Honored as All-WCC

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara softball had four players honored on the All-West Coast Conference teams, as voted on by the league's six head coaches it was announced Tuesday.

Sophomore catcher Hannah Russell brought home first team honors with sophomore pitcher Aubree Kim being named to the second team. Senior outfielder Ellie Fisher and sophomore shortstop Eleni Spirakis were on the honorable mention list.

Russell led the team with a .331 batting average while starting all 46 games. She had five doubles, 16 RBIs, and scored six runs.

Kim led Santa Clara in wins (5), appearances (34), starts (25), complete games (11), innings pitched (151 2/3), and strikeouts (89). On April 28 at Pacific , she tossed the fourth no-hitter in Bronco history.

Fisher appeared in all 46 games for Santa Clara and made 45 starts while leading the team in runs scored with 27 and stolen bases with 20 in 23 attempts.

Spirakis finished second on the team in batting average and RBIs with 18. She scored 15 runs and had six doubles and a triple.
