SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball announced its 2019 schedule under second-year head coach Lisa Dodd Wednesday. The Broncos will play a total of 53 games with 20 coming at home.
The season begins Feb. 8 at the NorCal Kickoff cohosted by UC Davis and Sacramento State.
After the CSUN Early Bird Classic Feb. 16-17, Santa Clara cohosts the Silicon Valley Classic with San Jose State and will take on CSU Bakersfield, Montana, Northern Colorado, and Utah State.
A trip to Fort Collins, Colo. for the Colorado State Classic (March 1-3) is followed by the Silicon Valley Classic II, again cohosted with the Spartans. The Broncos will face CSU Fullerton, Weber State, Nevada, and Northern Kentucky during the tournament.
The Capital Classic Tournament (March 15-17), UC Riverside Tournament (March 23-24), and Fresno State Invitational (March 30-31) conclude tournament play.
West Coast Conference play begins April 13-14 at Saint Mary's. Santa Clara also makes a trip to San Diego May 4-5. The Broncos LMU (April 19-2), Pacific (April 27-28), and BYU (May 10-11). The matchup with the Cougars will close out the regular season.
Santa Clara plays midweek games against Bucknell (March 12) at San Jose State and vs. Stanford (April 9) and Cal (May 1) at home.
