SANTA CALRA, Calif. – With a seven=game homestand coming to an end, Santa Clara softball heads on the road for the final time in 2019 and plays at San Diego Saturday at noon and 2 p.m. and Sunday at noon.
The Broncos dropped a close home midweek game to Cal Wednesday to wrap-up nonconference play.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (12-32, 4-5 WCC) is hitting .262 as a team with a .346 on-base percentage. The Broncos have scored 146 runs with 57 doubles, seven triples, and six home runs.
Eleni Spirakis leads the team with a .345 batting average, 32 runs scored, and two home runs while also adding 11 doubles and 11 RBIs to go with a .417 OBP. Sammy Needham has hit a team-high 14 doubles and leads with a .423 OBP to go with 18 RBIs and a .313 average. Hannah Russell's 24 RBIs lead the team and she is hitting .294. Regan Dias is batting .272 with a .397 OBP thanks to a team-high 23 walks and she also leads with 11 steals in 12 attempts.
Dias has thrown a team-high 102 innings in 24 games and 18 starts with five complete games. Lauren Anderson has appeared in 27 games and made 17 starts with four complete games covering 97 1/3 innings with Lauren Schiek tossing 55 1/3 innings in 26 games with all but one coming out of the bullpen.
THE TOREROS
San Diego (19-24, 3-6 WCC) has been outscored 218-155 on the season. The Toreros are hitting .267 with 51 doubles, five triples, and 14 home runs. They have posted a team ERA of 4.52 with 201 strikeouts in 272 1/3 innings.
Sara Silveyra leads the team with a .350 batting average, 15 doubles, and 27 RBIs. She has also hit three home runs and scored 26 runs. Taylor Spence is second hitting .344 with a team-high 29 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 11 attempts. Lindsay Clare is batting .330 with 22 RBIs and Sophia Bjerk has three home runs and 19 RBIs to go with a .295 batting average.
Delaney Heller has appeared in 26 games and made 16 starts with nine complete games and two shutouts. She has fanned 74 in a team-leading 99 1/3 innings. Madison Earnshaw has made 19 starts with six complete games and four appearances out of the bullpen with 79 strikeouts in 91 1/3 innings.
