Softball Adds Seventh Member to the 2023 Recruiting Class

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball signed Kyla Acres, the 120th best prospect in the class of 2023 according to Extra Inning Softball, as the seventh member of the 2023 recruiting class.

Acres, a corner infielder, who helped lead Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas to the 2022 Nevada State Championship, batted a robust .531 and drove in 33 runs in 32 games.  She was named first team Las Vegas Review-Journal All-Southern Nevada as well as team offensive MVP.

"I chose Santa Clara because it's a great academic institution with an amazing campus, and I really like the competitive and positive culture of the softball program," said Acres.

The four-star prospect by OnDeck Softball had 20 extra base hits (15 doubles and five home runs) among her 40 hits last season for Bishop Gorman.  Acres also played travel ball for the Firecrackers Premier RTY and Firecrackers TJ.

"We are excited to add Kyla to our 2023 class," said Broncos head coach Gina Carbonatto.  "Kyla is a strong left-handed hitter that we are happy to have join our team as we graduate some offensive power at the end of this year."

Last November, the Broncos signed six players to National Letters of Intent.
