SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Santa Clara University women's tennis players Nicole McCord and Christine Limbers were named the West Coast Conference's Doubles Team of the Month for April, the league announced this afternoon.
The duo went 4-3 on the month, playing mostly at No. 1 doubles. Two of their losses came to opponents from the top two teams in the WCC: Pepperdine and LMU. The third was a 9-8 decision to Saint Mary's in the first round of the WCC Championships, a team the duo edged by a 9-7 scored two weeks prior. The doubles team earned strong victories over Cal Poly and Pacific, while clinching the doubles point at the WCC Championships against Portland with an 8-6 victory. The Broncos went on to win the match and earned Santa Clara's highest finish ever in the league tournament, placing third.
Loyola Marymount's Andrea Lord was named the league's Singles Player of the Month.
