SAP Open to Offer Free Junior Tennis Clinic

Jan. 11, 2005

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - For the second consecutive year, Santa Clara University's tennis program is pairing with the United States Tennis Association's Northern California Section and the 2005 SAP Open to host a free junior tennis clinic on Monday, February 7.

The clinic is open to junior players and will run from 4:30-6 p.m. on February 7 at the Degheri Tennis Center, located on the southeast corner of the mission campus. Pre-registered participants will receive one ticket to the 2005 SAP Open matches that will take place at the HP Pavilion that night at 7 p.m. Free tickets are available for chaperones while they last.

"It's with great pleasure that we are able to host this special event again at Santa Clara University," Bronco men's head coach George Husack said. "Last year, it was quite a sight to see the plethora of kids on the courts and enjoying a sport they love to play. We are grateful for the opportunity and very happy to have built a solid partnership with the NCTA."

In the event of rain, the clinic will be cancelled, however participants can still attend the SAP Open by going to the will call booth at the HP Pavilion after 4:30 p.m. to pick up a ticket.

Players are responsible for providing their own transportation from the clinic to the Open.

To register, please email Summer Verhoeven at verhoeven@norcal.usta.com with the names of each participant and contact information, or click here for a flyer that can be faxed to 510-748-7377. Reservations will be confirmed by USTA NorCal via phone or email.

Please RSVP no later than Monday, February 1.
