DAVIS, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's tennis team earned a 7-0 victory over UC Davis this morning at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. The Broncos' record improves to 7-3 overall, 1-0 in league play. The Aggies fall to 2-8 on the season.

Santa Clara swept doubles, including two 8-3 wins by Janalle Kaloi and Kelly Leathers and Erika Barnes and Jessie Strunk. Catherine Cochrane and Kimberly Daniel also won for the Broncos. Santa Clara also swept singles with Leathers, Daniel and Strunk earning straight-set victories.

"I'm extremely happy with Erika Barnes and Jessie Strunk in the doubles as well as Kaloi and Leathers," head coach Damon Coupe said. "They really went out and moved and poached the ball early and got up on their opponents and took control. That's how we practice and it was good to see them do that right away."

Santa Clara returns to the courts Sunday morning with a match against Loyola Marymount in Moraga. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
