Women's Tennis Lost to Pacific 6-1

April 12, 2005

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's tennis team lost to Pacific 6-1 this afternoon at the Hal Nelson Tennis Courts in Stockton. Santa Clara is now 12-6 on the season. The Tigers are now 16-4.

"It was a crazy, windy day, with about 35-mph gusts. It was tough to get a rhythm. That's not an excuse, as both teams had to deal with it," head coach Damon Coupe explained. "About half way through singles we picked it up and started to make a push for a comeback. We fell just short but at least we were able to turn it around."

The Broncos return home on Thursday for a 2:30 p.m. match against Northern Arizona. The Broncos will honor seniors Janalle Kaloi and Catherine Cochrane prior to the start of the contest against the Lumberjacks.
