Santa Clara, Calif. - Santa Clara University announced today that Damon Coupe has stepped down as head coach of the women's tennis team and Ben Cabell has been named the interim women's tennis head coach.
Cabell spent the past two seasons as an assistant for the team working with the players on the court and also serving as the strength and conditioning coach. He has also worked as an assistant pro at the Los Altos Golf & Tennis Club. As a player, Cabell began his collegiate career at Foothill College before transferring to San Diego State University.
The women's tennis team begins its fall season this weekend as they travel to Fresno, Calif. for the Bulldog Classic that runs from Friday, Sept. 22 - Sunday, Sept. 24.
