Women's Tennis Competes at Duck Classic

Eugene, Ore. - The women's tennis team traveled up north November 10th to compete in the 2006 Oregon Invitational (Duck Classic). Members of the team were able to hold their own in the Flight Two singles matches with junior Myra Davoudi coming out with the win in a 6-3,6-1 match over Eastern Washington University's Iliana Petrova. Junior Lindsay McBride also won with a 6-1, 6-0 showing over EWU's Megan Smedleg. Both girls lost in close matches in the following round to members of the Boise State University squad.

In the first round of the doubles competition, the pair of Meghan Madden and Lindsay McBride proved too much for Lauren Summers from the University of Washington and Megan Smedleg from EWU. The Bronco ladies carried the match with an 8-6 victory. The three doubles teams consisting of Erika Barnes/Casey Knutson, Madden/McBride, and Kim Daniel/Davoudi received byes in the first round before falling against the teams from BSU, EWU and the University of Washington.
