SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara women's tennis team is back at the Degheri Tennis Center this weekend for its last two home matches of the season.  The Broncos are set to take on Saint Mary's at 3 p.m. on April 10 and Pacific at 10 a.m. on April 11.

Santa Clara split last week's matches, with a 5-2 win over Loyola Marymount on April 2 and a 7-0 loss at the hands of Pepperdine on April 4.  The team is now 6-8 overall with a 2-3 record in WCC.

"This is a really big weekend for us with Saint Mary's coming in here on Friday and Pacific on Saturday," said head coach Ben Cabell. "The conference is very even this year and these two matches are going to determine a lot about where we're going to finish in conference."

The Gaels are ranked No. 41 nationwide by ITA.  Their pairing of Jana McCord and Parminder Kaur form the 56th ranked doubles team in the country.  Saint Mary's is 10-7 overall and 4-1 in the WCC after having won five of its last six matches.  Their only WCC loss came to Portland on March 27, while their four wins have come against BYU, Pacific, Gonzaga and San Diego.  They boast a WCC winning percentage of .667 in singles and .818 in doubles.

The Tigers are 8-8 overall and 2-3 in WCC play.  Prior to their most recent match that ended in a 5-2 win over San Diego, the team had lost five in a row to Liberty, San Jose State, Saint Mary's, Gonzaga and Portland.  Pacific's other WCC win came on March 7 as it knocked off then-No. 38 BYU 4-3.

"These are going to be tough matches but we feel like we're in a really good place and we're ready to take them on," Cabell said.
