SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara women's tennis team came out on top in their final home match of the season, defeating Pacific 4-3.  The Broncos improve to 7-9 overall and 3-4 in the WCC.

"It was a tough match, but we came out with a good win against a good team," said Bronco head coach Ben Cabell.

Santa Clara quickly snagged the doubles point, with Chelby Cooke and Delphine Rouvillois winning 6-2, followed by Riley Morgan and Zeina El Tawil beating their opponents by the same score.

The Tigers ran out to a 3-1 point lead after half of the singles matches concluded.  But the Broncos stormed back.  Chelby Cooke finished with a win on Court 3 to kick off the comeback.  And after falling in their singles matches yesterday, Daniella Silva and Zeina El Tawil earned two decisive points for the Broncos on Courts 4 and 5 respectively to win the match for Santa Clara.

"It was great to get a win on senior day for Elaine," Cabell said.  "I'm really proud of the way we handled adversity."

Next weekend the Broncos head north to play Gonzaga and Portland in their last two regular season matches before the West Coast Conference Championships.
