SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis hosts Nevada at Degheri Tennis Center on Saturday at 10 a.m. PT in its lone match of the weekend.

The Broncos enter the weekend with a 1-1 record after defeating Sonoma State 5-2 in the season opener on Jan. 28 and suffering its first loss to Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 4. The match against San Jose State originally set for Feb. 3 was postponed to Feb. 18 due to rain.

"Hopefully the rain lets up and allows us to have good practices leading up to Nevada," Cabell said. "We know it's going to be tight either way, that's what we're expecting, so hopefully we play well."

Sophomore Madison Clarke did not finish her match against CSUF, keeping her five-match winning streak dating back to the fall intact. Senior Nabila Farah has also won her last two completed matches dating back to the fall.

Senior Daniella Silva and Clarke are 2-0 on court in doubles action this season. The Broncos are also looking to add freshman Delaney Nothaft to the lineup this weekend. Nothaft joined the team in January and Cabell feels she will be a good lift to the squad.

"Since our practice schedule has been all over the place due to the rain, we're trying to build some good habits in our matches," Cabell said. "It's a challenge but that is our goal and we'll get there it is just taking a bit longer. The girls are doing a good job with it but it's not easy."

Nevada is 0-1 on the year after also falling to Cal State Fullerton. The Wolf Pack have had two matches canceled or postponed due to weather. Nevada is led by junior Claudia Herrero and senior Sheila Morales who have identical 8-4 records and are both nationally ranked by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Herrero, No. 66, lost in three sets in her No. 1 singles match at Cal State Fullerton to start the spring season. Morales, ranked 73rd, played at No. 2 singles and won her match in three sets.
