SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis will head south to San Luis Obispo this weekend to square off against Cal Poly for its first road match of the dual match season. The match at the Mustang Tennis Complex is set for 11 a.m. PT.

"We're expecting a close match again," head coach Ben Cabell said. "We know their team pretty well and we think it'll be close. I think it'll be nice to get some time together as a team on the road and I think that will be good for everybody."

The Broncos enter the weekend with a 1-3 record after falling to UC Davis (Feb. 19) in a tough 3-4 loss.

Sophomore Madison Clarke is 3-0 on court two this season, picking up a win against UC Davis and now owns a seven-match winning streak dating back to the fall. Senior Nabila Farah has also won six of her last 10 matches dating back to the fall and is 3-1 on court three this season.

Senior Daniella Silva and Clarke are 2-2 on court one in doubles action this season. The Broncos also paired freshman Delaney Nothaft with Farah on court three and they won their second-ever match together. Nothaft joined the team in January and Cabell feels she will be a good lift to the squad.

The Mustangs of Cal Poly are 0-4 on the season, including two 3-4 losses at San Diego State and UC San Diego. They lost at home to San Jose State (0-4) and at San Francisco (1-6).

"We've been giving ourselves a chance to win," Cabell said. "The goal is to give ourselves a chance to win again and then finish it off. We've been playing well enough to win so now we just have to finish better."
