Women’s Tennis To Play Cal, CSUN
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis plays a pair of matches this weekend, a road match at Cal on Saturday at Noon PT and a home match against CSUN on Sunday at 11 a.m. PT at Degheri Tennis Center.

"Cal is a different challenge because they are a top-20 team in the country so we are very excited to play them.  What I like about our team is the players are excited and they want to play a top caliber team," said Broncos head coach Ben Cabell.  "We get better playing the best teams.  You learn what your weaknesses are and learn what you need to get better at," Broncos head coach Ben Cabell said.

The Broncos (0-1) are coming off a 5-2 loss at UC Davis on Jan. 27 with junior Madison Clarke and senior Zeina El Tawil picking up singles wins on courts one and three.

For the 14th-ranked Golden Bears (1-1), Saturday's match will be its third match of the season.  Cal lost to then 12th-ranked Texas 4-3 in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend at home.

On Sunday, Santa Clara will welcome CSUN for the dual-match season home opener.

"We're excited to play at home in front of our fans and family.  CSUN is a good team as well.  There's nothing easy on our schedule.  Hopefully having gotten a couple of matches under our belt at that point, we'll be settling into our routine in terms of identifying who is going to be playing where and finding our rhythm.  We're close but we're finalizing that up right now," said Cabell.

"Everyone on the team senses that we are good.  We just need to get everyone on the court all at the same time and the freshmen have to continue to get better.  When you have so many new players, it just takes a little bit longer for everything to click."

Live stream will be available for the Saturday match against Cal.

Live stats will be available for the Sunday match against CSUN.
