Women’s Tennis Travel To Arizona To Play A Pair This Week
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis travel to the Grand Canyon state this week to play Arizona Christian on Friday and 20th-ranked Arizona State on Saturday in what will be a homecoming for three Bronco players who hail from the state.

Junior Madison Clarke is from Phoenix, sophomore Delaney Nothaft makes her home in Tempe and sophomore Maddie Pothoff is from Tucson.

"Its one of the reasons we scheduled this trip because we have a lot of players from Arizona so they can play in front of their families and friends.  It'll be a nice trip and we are all looking forward to it," said Broncos head coach Ben Cabell.

The Broncos (1-3) are coming off a close loss against Fresno State on Feb. 11, losing 4-3 after coming back from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits.

"We felt like we had them but the big picture is we are playing well and that's what we want.  We've never beaten Fresno State so for us to be at their home court with a chance to beat them gives us assurance that we are doing some good things," said Cabell.

Arizona Christian (2-0) beat Occidental College and the University of Redlands back on Feb. 1 and 3.

Saturday's opponent, Arizona State (4-1) is the 20th-ranked team in the nation with its only loss coming against No. 15 ranked Oklahoma State, 4-3, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  In their last match, the Sun Devils knocked off WCC's Gonzaga, 4-0.

The match against Arizona State will be live streamed.
