Women’s Tennis Signs No. 82 Player In U.S. Senior Class
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis signed Jamie Schroer, the No. 82 player in the U.S. senior class, to a National Letter-Of-Intent to join the program for the 2018-19 season, as announced by head coach Ben Cabell.

"We are really excited to have Jamie join the team.  When we watched her play, she competed hard and that's one of the things we look for is competitiveness as its one thing that's hard to teach.  Jamie will make an immediate impact to the lineup.  We think she's a great fit for Santa Clara, she's a good player and she does very well academically," said Cabell.

Schroer, the 2017 Southern Arizona Junior Sportsmanship Player of the Year, holds a 4.0 GPA and is part of the National Honor Society.

"I chose Santa Clara because of the atmosphere of the team, and the mix of academics and athletics. I'm excited to get to campus and represent Santa Clara," said Schroer.

The right-handed player from Arizona Connections Academy will be joining a trio of Arizonans on the squad.  Sophomores Delaney Nothaft and Maddie Pothoff both attended Arizona Connections Academy and junior Madison Clarke hails from Phoenix.

"One thing we have going here is we have players currently on the team from Arizona that are happy and having a great experience at Santa Clara.  That's why we see their friends and other good players in Arizona wanting to come here," said Cabell of the Arizona pipeline he has established.
