Women’s Tennis Opens Fall Season on Friday at Battle in the Bay Classic Tournament

Battle in the Bay Classic Tournament Draws/Results
 
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis opens its 2018 fall season on Friday at the Battle in the Bay Classic Tournament held at the California Tennis Club in San Francisco.  
 
The three-day tournament is hosted by the University of San Francisco and will run from Friday through Sunday.  The field for the 10th annual tournament is comprised of seven California schools including Fresno State, Sacramento State, USC and West Coast Conference foes Pacific, Pepperdine, host San Francisco, along with the Broncos.
 
Sophomores Elvena Gevargiz and San Francisco native Katya Tabachnik will participate in the tournament for the Broncos playing in both the singles and doubles draws.  
 
The tournament is a 16-player draw in singles and eight-player draw in doubles with the winner of the singles draw earning a wild card position into the $60,000 Stockton Challenger event.  
 
The event is free and open to the public.
