Women’s Tennis Gears Up For Saint Mary’s Fall Invite This Weekend

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis continues its fall season this weekend playing at the Saint Mary's Fall Invite in Moraga, California.  The tournament hosted by Saint Mary's runs Friday through Sunday at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.

"We have had a few matches under our belt now.  The goal is to keep playing a lot of matches and building up the match toughness," said Broncos head coach Ben Cabell.    "For the SMC Invite, we will continue to work on our doubles options and evaluate it, as we will try out a few different combinations because the fall is the time to do it."

Cabell is expected to put out a doubles lineup of Maddie Pothoff and Kaitlyn Frankel, Elvena Gevargiz and Jamie Schroer, plus Lindsey Pesqueira with Nadine Del Carmen.

In last year's SMC Fall Invitational, Elvena Gevargiz picked up three wins including advancing to the singles quarterfinals and getting a doubles win.
