ITA Northwest Regional Championships Draws/Results

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis competes in the ITA Northwest Regional Championships starting Friday at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium on the Stanford campus.

The five-day tournament features some of the top women's players from the west coast schools: California, Cal Poly, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Oregon, Pacific, Portland, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, San Francisco, San José State, Santa Clara, Seattle, UC Davis and host, Stanford.

Over 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete across 85 ITA Regional Championships around the country.  In Division I, regional doubles champions and regional singles champions and finalists qualify for the season-ending Oracle ITA National Fall Championships in Surprise, Arizona (Nov. 7-11).  The Northwest Regionals will be comprised of a 128-player draw in singles and a 64-team draw in doubles.

"We're in competition mode now.  The first couple of tournaments were to get the team ready and to get back into the swing of things.  The ITA Regionals are always fun, playing in one of the premier college tennis facilities in the country and with the level of competition we'll face," said Broncos head coach Ben Cabell.

Friday competition begins with the first two rounds of singles and the opening round of doubles.  The competition continues Saturday with two more rounds for both singles and doubles with the quarterfinals on Sunday.  The semifinals for both are on Monday, before the championship matches on Tuesday.
