SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis will wrap up the 2018 fall season by hosting the Fourth Annual Bronco Invitational at the Degheri Tennis Center on the Santa Clara University campus starting Friday.

The three-day tournament features players from Nevada, San Francisco, San José State, as well as Santa Clara.  Start time is 9 a.m. each day and admission is free.

"We are looking forward to playing at home.  The format for this tournament allows us to play as a team because we will all be on the court at the same time so it's a good transition from the fall tournaments to the spring dual match season.  These don't count as a dual match on our team record as we will play singles matches against another school and then doubles matches against a different school each day," said Broncos head coach Ben Cabell.

Each day, singles play starts at 9 a.m. with all teams playing doubles at 12 noon followed by reverse singles at 1 p.m.  The majority of the Bronco squad is expected to compete in singles and doubles.

"The players definitely like this event and its one of their favorites for the fall since we play well here.  We've had a pretty good fall so far and I've been happy with the development of the players and we're hoping that we can be healthy and have a good tournament," said Cabell.
