Women’s Tennis Lose at No. 38 Gonzaga on Sunday
SPOKANE, Wash. – Nationally-ranked Gonzaga swept past Santa Clara women's tennis, 4-0, on Sunday in a West Coast Conference match at the Stevens Center.  
 
No. 38 Zags (6-2, 1-0) did not drop a set to put on a dominant performance with the match clincher by No. 4 ranked singles player Sophie Whittle over Maddie Pothoff 6-2, 6-1 on court one.  The loss snapped Pothoff's six match win streak.  
 
Santa Clara (3-5, 0-2) had another win streak snapped when Elvena Gevargiz, who had won five in a row, fell to Graciela Rosas 6-1, 6-2 on court two.  
 
On court three, Domonique Garley beat Jamie Schroer 6-3, 6-1.  
 
In doubles action, Kate Ketels and Haruna Tsuruta beat Jamie Schroer and Nadine Del Carmen 6-3 on court three to clinch the doubles point after Graciela Rosas and Sophie Whittle downed Maddie Pothoff and Elvena Gevargiz 6-2 on court one.
