Women’s Tennis Travels to Hawaii to Play a Pair of Matches

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis travel to Hawaii to play a pair of nonconference midweek matches against Hawaii Pacific on Wednesday and the University of Hawaii on Thursday.  Both matches will be played at the University of Hawaii Tennis Complex with Wednesday's first serve at 1 p.m. and Thursday's at 7 p.m. Pacific Time.  
 
The Broncos (3-8) will look to bounce back after losing two conference matches over the weekend, 4-2 to Pacific and 4-0 to Saint Mary's.  
 
Hawaii Pacific (7-3) is ranked No. 5 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II Women's Tennis Rankings by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and boast three individuals ranked nationally in singles.  Elodie Busson is ranked ninth, Elisa Elhadj comes in at 54th and Mihoki Miyahara is 73rd.  
 
Hawaii (3-9) has lost eight consecutive matches but is 2-2 at home.  No. 100-ranked Petra Melounova has upset two Top 40 players this month beating Cal's Julia Rosenqvist in straight sets last weekend and taking down No. 34 Salma Ewing of USC in three sets on March 3.
