Women’s Tennis Travels to LMU and No. 8 Pepperdine to Close Out Regular Season
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis closes out its regular season at LMU on Thursday and at No. 8 Pepperdine on Saturday in a pair of West Coast Conference contests.  First serve on Thursday is at 11 a.m. and on Saturday at noon.

Santa Clara (6-10, 2-5 WCC) currently sits in eighth place in the conference standings but is coming off a win over San Francisco last weekend on the road.

"We knew the match was going to be close and it certainly was," said Broncos head coach Ben Cabell of the 4-2 win.  "We got off to a really good start in the doubles where all three matches were tightly contested.  In singles, it was tough up and down the line.  Caitlyn won a good match having lost to the same opponent in the fall but came back to beat Rita Colyer.  Same thing with Maddie, beating Mya Bui after losing to her in the fall."

LMU (8-8, 3-4) is tied for sixth in the conference and will try to hold serve on its home court where they are 5-2 this season.

Pepperdine (17-3, 7-0) is riding a 14-match win streak and are undefeated in conference play to sit atop the conference standings.  Its lone home loss came on Feb. 16 against Cal and are 6-1 at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center this season.

"We've beaten LMU down on their home courts in the past so we'll focus on them first and see how we do against a nationally-ranked Pepperdine team," said Cabell.
