Women’s Tennis Loses Season Finale at No. 6 Pepperdine on Saturday

MALIBU, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis concluded its season with a loss to No. 6-ranked Pepperdine, 4-1 on Saturday at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.  
 
Pepperdine (19-3, 9-0 West Coast Conference) played up to its lofty ranking as the lone point the Broncos (6-12, 2-7) could muster came when Nadine Del Carmen won by default over Anastasia Iamachkine on court six.  
 
The Waves took the doubles point with a pair of 6-4 wins.  On court one, Ashley Lahey and Daria Kuczer beat Maddie Pothoff and Elvena Gevargiz followed by the doubles point clincher by Adrijana Lekaj and Dzina Milovanovic over Katya Tabachnik and Caitlyn Frankel on court two. 
 
In singles action, Pepperdine won three consecutive matches, all in straight sets with the match clincher by No. 92 Lekaj over Gevargiz, 6-3, 6-3.  
 
The Waves won its 16th straight match of the season and concluded the regular season undefeated in conference play to finish atop the WCC standings.
