Women’s Tennis Picks Up Three Doubles Wins at Saint Mary’s Invitational on Friday

MORAGA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis picked up three doubles wins on Friday at the first day of the Saint Mary's Invitational.  
 
In the opening round of the A flight, the No. 58 ranked doubles team of Maddie Pothoff and Elvena Gevargiz beat Sacramento State's Jenna Dorian and Tsveti Yotova, 8-3.  But the Bronco duo lost in the next round to Delanie Dunkle and Emily Monaghan of Cal Poly, 8-0.  
 
Madison Clarke and Caitlyn Frankel also won the opening round in the B flight, taking down Pacific's Elise Frigout and Maya Lopez, 8-3, before losing to Arianna Capogrosso and Rita Colyer of San Francisco, 85.  
 
Nadine Del Carmen and Lindsey Pesqueira won a double B consolation match, 8-4, over a mixed team of Claire Bouquet from Cal Poly and Frana Ugarkovic from Sacramento State.  
 
Jamie Schroer won the lone singles match beating Danielle McIntyre, 6-3, 7-5, in the A flight round of 32.  She will face Cal's Katerina Stloukalova on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the round of 16.
