Gevargiz and Pothoff Head to ITA Women’s All-American Championships

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis ranked duo of Elvena Gevargiz and Maddie Pothoff will compete in the qualifying rounds at the ITA Women's All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma starting Monday.
 
The two will play in Tulsa as the No. 58 ranked doubles team in the Oracle/ITA collegiate tennis Division I women's preseason national rankings.  Pothoff is ranked No. 76 in singles and will also participate in that discipline.  
 
"It's a great honor for Maddie and Elvena to play in the tournament.  They are directly in the qualifying rounds because of their rankings.  They deserve is and earned it last year," said Broncos head coach Ben Cabell.  "It will be a chance for them to build on their rankings as it's one of our goals this year to maintain that ranked status."  
 
The University of Tulsa is hosting the championships for the 14th straight season, with the matches taking place on the courts of the Michal D. Case Tennis Center.  
 
The qualifying draws for both singles are doubles are comprised of 64 seeds.
