Women’s Tennis Travels to Cal Poly on Friday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis will look to bounce back against Cal Poly on Friday after a pair of losses last weekend.  First serve is set for 1 p.m. from the Mustang Tennis Complex.

The Broncos (1-3) will head down to Cal Poly who are 5-0 on the season including 3-0 at home.  The Mustangs won both its road matches over the weekend defeating Sacramento State 7-0 and UC Davis 5-2.

SCU lost to a pair of Bay Area schools last weekend falling to Stanford 7-0 and dropping a tough 4-3 match against San Jose State.

Junior Jamie Schroer and freshman Finley Kalinic are 3-1 on the season in singles play.  Schroer moved atop the lineup against San Jose State and played a grind out match before her opponent retired due to an injury.

For the Mustangs, their combined singles record is 26-4 going undefeated in the third, fourth and fifth spots in the lineup.
