SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Carly Schwartzberg clinched the match on court six in UC Davis' 4-3 victory over Santa Clara women's tennis on Tuesday.
Schwartzberg defeated Varya Zlotnik 7-6 (8-6), 7-5 shortly after Katherine Petty evened the team score at 3-all with her three-set win over Olive Maunupau on court four, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3.
UC Davis (3-6) won the doubles point on Yana Gurevich and Kristina Evloeva's 6-4 triumph over Jamie Schroer and Nadine Del Carmen on court three.
Santa Clara (2-5) answered back in singles play when Schroer took care of Michelle Zell in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 to put the Broncos on the board.
The back and forth battle continued as each time the Aggies won a singles match, the Broncos answered back on wins by Finley Kalinic at No. 2 and Petty at No. 4 with the Aggies eventually prevailing at the end.
