Women’s Tennis Concludes Home Slate This Weekend with Senior Day on Saturday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis hosts BYU on Friday and San Diego on Saturday in the final home matches of the 2021 spring season.  Prior to Saturday's contest, Nadine Del Carmen will be recognized as part of Senior Day celebration.

First serve for Friday is at noon and Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Degheri Tennis Center.

Unfortunately, due to a spike in COVID-19 cases with the campus community and despite a recent improvement, we remain unable to allow fans into the facility at this time. The priority continues to be the health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches and staff so the university will continue to evaluate campus policies. While the state of California announced guidance for outdoor seated venues on April 1, the university reserves the right to be more cautious than public health guidance.

Santa Clara (2-11, 0-5) lost a pair of road matches against Gonzaga and Portland last weekend.  Jamie Schroer and Varya Zlotnik have paired up to win their last four doubles matches, all coming on court three.

BYU (14-7, 3-2) is coming off a loss at San Diego and are 2-6 on the road for the year.

San Diego (10-3, 4-0) is riding a five-match winning streak and will play San Francisco on Friday before taking on Santa Clara the day after.  In four WCC matches, the Toreros have only lost three team points with a pair of sweeps.
