Solid Doubles Teams Play by Women's Tennis at SMC Invite

MORAGA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis doubles teams had a solid outing at the Saint Mary's Fall Invitational where two teams advanced to the semifinals.

Both the doubles team of Finley Kalinic and JennaMarie Gordon along with Jamie Schroer and Varya Zlotnik won their round of 16 and quarterfinal matches to advance to the semifinal round.

Playing in the top-flight draw, Kalinic and Gordon fell to San Francisco's Maria Martinez and Rita Colyer 8-4 in the semis. Schroer and Zlotnik played in the B-flight bracket and lost to another San Francisco tandem of Caragh Courtney and Simran Chhabra 8-1.

Both Broncos doubles teams added another doubles victory each in Sunday's extra match session.

Zlotnik also picked up two singles wins for a team-high five total wins over the three day tournament along with freshman Kacey Feng who won two singles and three doubles matches over the weekend.
