Aug. 30, 2001

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Fans worldwide of Santa Clara men's and women's soccer and volleyball can now follow their favorite team in action with live coverage of nearly every Bronco match on the Internet.

The Department of Athletics and its Internet partner, the FANSonly Network, are teaming together to provide live in-game coverage of all Bronco home games as well as selected road games through live audio broadcasts for soccer and real-time live statistical updates for all three sports.

"We are pleased that we can continue to provide such extensive coverage of Bronco athletics on SantaClaraBroncos.com," said Richard Kilwien, Santa Clara's associate director of athletics for external services. "Our soccer and volleyball teams have national reputations for excellence and we are proud to provide first-class coverage of their games. I can't think of any other program in the nation that provide comparable live coverage of their soccer and volleyball teams."

Users simply go to the official athletic site for Santa Clara Athletics, located at www.SantaClaraBroncos.com, and look for the live coverage box on the front page. Access to the soccer audio broadcasts will require the free Real Player software, which can be downloaded at www.real.com. There are no requirements other than the normal Netscape or Internet Explorer browser for livestats.

The soccer play-by-play duties will be shared by Santa Clara University alums Ram Fletcher and Will Saso. Color analysis of selected games will be provided by former Bronco men's soccer player Mark Wojchiechowski.
