SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara University sporting event schedules have been affected through the weekend in sympathy to the national tragedy that occurred Tuesday.
The volleyball team will not travel to the Diet Coke Classic in Minneapolis, Minn., and is working to reschedule Tuesday's postponed match against Sacramento State.
An institutional decision by San Jose State State to postpone all of its events has effectively cancelled tonight's scheduled men's soccer contest at Santa Clara. The match will be rescheduled for a later date.
Women's soccer was also set to play home contests this weekend. The match against fourth-ranked Notre Dame, set for Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Buck Shaw Stadium has been cancelled, although both teams are working to find an alternate date. Sunday afternoon's meeting against California has been pushed back one day and will be played at Buck Shaw on Monday, September 17, at 7:30 p.m.
