Santa Clara, in a rare Tuesday evening match in West Coast Conference action, will host Pacific on Tuesday at 6 pm in the Leavey Center.  The two teams split their matches last season, with each team winning on the road.

The Broncos are 10-4 and 0-1 in the WCC this season.  Santa Clara lost its first WCC match 3-0 at USF on Sept. 26.

The Broncos are in the top 20 nationally in five categories. They continue to lead the country with 2.06 aces per set.  They are No. 7 in hitting percentage (.291), No. 17 in team service aces (97), No. 19 in kills per set (14.17) and No. 20 in assists per set (13.17). In addition, freshman setter Kirsten Mead is No. 5 in the country with 11.69 apg.

Santa Clara is led by three hitters than average 3.0 plus kills per set.  Sabrina Clayton averages 3.35 kpg, Nikki Hess 3.16 and Taylor Milton 3.00.  Mead leads the team with 11.69 apg and is third with .38 sapg.  Danielle Rottman paces the team with 4.53 dpg and .59 sapg.

Pacific enters the match at 13-2 and 2-0 in the WCC.  The Tigers started WCC play with a bang at home, defeating previously unbeaten No. 21 LMU, 3-2, on Sept. 25. They were down 0-2 to start the match and then won the next three games, including winning game five 15-11.  They handled Pepperdine on Sept. 27 with more ease, winning 3-0.

Lexi Elman was named the WCC Player of the Week after the pair of WCC victories last weekend.  Elman had 22 kills vs. LMU.  She averaged 4.12 kpg as well.  The Tigers haven't lost since they were defeated by Oregon State on Sept. 5.

They are led by Elman, who averages 3.84 kpg and 2.61 dpg.  Kat Schulz adds 3.36 kpg and 2.47 dpg.

After their match vs. Pacific, the Broncos will play at No. 23 San Diego (9-5) on Oct. 2 at 7 pm and then play at No. 10 BYU (11-2) on Oct. 4 at 7 pm as well.  Santa Clara returns home on Thurs., Oct. 9 when they host Portland at 6 pm and then Gonzaga the following night, Fri., Oct. 10, at 6 pm.
