SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara volleyball associate head coach Aaron Mansfield has been named head coach at Loyola Marymount, announced Tuesday. Mansfield spent the last five seasons at Santa Clara — two as an assistant coach and three as associate head coach. He also served as head coach of the Bronco beach volleyball team for three years during his time on the Mission campus.

The Northern California native will be a head coach at the collegiate level for the first time in his career at the fellow West Coast Conference program. Santa Clara and Loyola Marymount play head-to-head twice a season.

"I couldn't be more happy for Aaron and his family to have this opportunity at Loyola Marymount," Bronco head coach Jon Wallace said. "Aaron has done an incredible job of making this program better, making our players better and developing a culture that is one of the best I've been around."

During his time at Santa Clara, Mansfield coached a team that reached the NCAA Tournament three times. The Broncos totaled 21 all-conference honorees, five First Team All-West Coast Conference selections, three AVCA All-Pacific North Region nods and one AVCA Honorable Mention All-American accolade (Nikki Hess in 2015) over the last five seasons. They posted a 91-61 (.599) overall record and went 47-41 (.534) in conference play with Mansfield on the staff, including three seasons with 20 or more wins.

"I will be forever grateful for the relationships I created at SCU with the players, coaches and support staff," Mansfield said. "Santa Clara has helped me shape my teaching and coaching approach in developing the whole athlete.

"I've been fortunate to have the best mentor I can possibly imagine in Jon Wallace. His passion for sport and competition is unmatched and he will continue to be an outstanding leader of a very talented team. I wish the Broncos all the best."
