THE BRONCOS

Kirsten Mead posted a match-high 31 assists and collected 10 digs against the Cougars for her 10th double-double of the season. Jensen Cunningham had a team-best nine kills and registered a .471 hitting percentage. Cunningham has hit .471 or better three times in Santa Clara's last four matches and is averaging 3.33 kills/set and 12.5 kills/match in that stretch.

The Broncos won against an opponent ranked in the Top 10 for the third year in a row when they defeated No. 9 Kansas on Sept. 15. They took down No. 7 USC on the road last year; the Trojans are the highest-ranked team Santa Clara has defeated in regular season program history. In 2015, the Broncos upended No. 10 BYU in a four-set match at home. They defeated the Cougars four straight times in Leavey Center from 2012-15.

Santa Clara tallied four sweep victories in five matches from Sept. 2-15 of this season (Seattle, Portland State, UC Davis, Idaho). The last time the Broncos had four sweep wins in five matches was from Sept. 5-13, 2014 (Central Connecticut State, Delaware, Pennsylvania, No. 20 Duke).
