STOCKTON, Calif. — Santa Clara volleyball dropped its first West Coast Conference road match of the season 25-18, 25-22, 25-20 Tuesday night against Pacific. The Tigers (7-7, 2-1) outhit the Broncos (7-8, 0-3) .300 to .188 at Alex G. Spanos Center.

The Broncos, playing the first of three matches in five days, have been swept in all three conference tilts this season.

Allison Kantor and Hailey Lindberg led Santa Clara with nine kills each. Kirsten Mead's 32 assists, Tatiana San Juan's 15 digs and Taylor Odom's five total blocks were all match-best efforts. The Broncos tallied one ace against 10 errors for their worst margin from the service line since Aug. 26 at Howard.

Pacific's Emily Baptista and Kaitlyn Lines tied for a match-best effort with 10 kills apiece. Andie Shelton had 16 assists and Hanne De Schrijver added 13.

Santa Clara had two of its best stretches of the night early in a back-and-forth second stanza. The Broncos led 9-5 and answered a 5-0 Tiger run by winning four straight points to make the count 13-10. Lindberg had three of her five kills for the set and added a block to help SCU pull in front by three points. Pacific won three straight points to cap the frame: a Bronco service error, a kill by Ashlyn Fleming and an ace from Maycie LaBass.

The Tigers jumped on the Broncos early in the first set by winning six of the first seven points; five different players logged a kill over that stretch. Santa Clara pulled within a point of Pacific twice — as late as 17-16 — before the Tigers won six straight points and eight of the last 10; the team's last two points came via Bronco service errors.

In the third set, Santa Clara missed on five straight serves after taking an early 6-4 advantage. Trailing 14-13, the Tigers went on a 3-0 run that included two kills from Shelton to bookend a block by Fleming. They closed the match on a 4-1 stretch.

NOTES

• Kantor's nine kills were the second-most in a single match this year.
• San Juan has 15+ kills in a single match six times on the season.
• The Broncos are 9-26 all-time against the Tigers.
