SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara volleyball concludes its longest homestand of the season on Friday night. The Broncos host San Francisco in a West Coast Conference matchup at 7 p.m. in Leavey Center.

SCU has played two straight matches and four of the last five overall at home. The Broncos (7-10, 0-5 WCC) just wrapped up their busiest stretch of conference play with three matches in five days and five matches in 10 days. They fell in five sets to both Gonzaga on Thursday and Portland on Saturday.

Santa Clara staved off two match points to force a fifth set versus Gonzaga. The Broncos were on match point in the deciding set against the Bulldogs and had a pair of match points in the fourth set against the Pilots.

The Dons (3-15, 0-5) and the Broncos are the only teams without a conference victory. San Francisco held a 2-1 match lead against Portland on Thursday and a 2-0 lead against Gonzaga on Saturday; the Dons lost both contests in five sets. The team has lost nine matches in a row and last won against Fresno State on Sept. 9.

THE BRONCOS

Redshirt freshman Allison Kantor posted career-high efforts in kills against both the Bulldogs and Pilots. Kantor had 11 kills Thursday night and a match-high 21 kills on .295 hitting Saturday afternoon.

Kirsten Mead is averaging a single-season best 2.75 digs/set in 2017. Her 656 total assists rank second in the WCC and her 10.41 assist/set average is good for third in the WCC. The senior setter is second all-time in career assists among Broncos that spent their entire careers in the rally-scoring era. She has 3,679 career assists, and needs 197 more to pass Julie Jamile (1987-90) and move into fifth-place all-time for the Broncos.

Jensen Cunningham ranks fourth in the WCC with a .342 hitting percentage. She posted career-best efforts in kills (19) and digs (16) against the Bulldogs and posted a second-straight double-double with 16 kills and 14 digs against the Pilots. The senior middle blocker had not recorded a double-double in her Bronco career prior to Thursday's match.

Taylor Odom checks in at fifth in the conference with 63 total blocks. The redshirt sophomore middle blocker logged eight block solos in 103 sets last year and has topped that mark in 2017 with nine block solos in 62 sets. She has totaled at least three blocks in 10 straight matches and had at least five blocks in half of those contests.

Michelle Gajdka's 32 kills between the Gonzaga and Portland tilts are the second-most over a two-match span in her Santa Clara career (34 against American, Georgetown - Aug. 25-26, 2017). The sophomore outside hitter has double-doubles in three of the last four matches.

THE DONS

San Francisco swept Nevada on opening day and picked up five-set wins against Cal State Northridge and Fresno State in back-to-back matches Sept. 8-9. Erica Ronda is one of the most active players on the USF offense; she ranks second in the WCC and 27th in the NCAA with 725 total attacks. Ronda is also third in the WCC with 20 aces.
