Boise State Remains Perfect on the Season by Knocking Off Volleyball

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Sabryn Roberts posted a match-best 13 kills and Cassedi Simon dished out 33 assists to help Boise State defeat Santa Clara volleyball 25-21, 26-24, 25-17 on Thursday, the opening day of the Santa Clara Invitational.

BSU (6-0) remained perfect on the season by tallying a .327 attack percentage and totaling 11 team blocks.

Ngozi Nwabozuh registered a team-high eight kills on a .357 attack percentage but SCU (4-4) suffered 22 attack errors and collectively hit only .097.

Jessica Donohue had six kills and a team-high six of Boise State's 20 block assists.

Michelle Shaffer had seven kills and 10 digs, and Chloe Loreen had a team-best 12 digs for Santa Clara, which had chances to even the match at 1-set apiece.

Trailing 23-20, SCU took advantage of a service error to set up a pair of kills from Alexa Dreyer, but Kiley Lewis posted two of her seven kills and then blocked an attack attempt to close out the set.

In the third set, Santa Clara pulled within 15-14 on a Michelle Gajdka ace, but Roberts came to the rescue with three kills in a 6-1 run for Boise State.

NEXT UP
Santa Clara faces UC Davis at 6 p.m. on Saturday in the final game of the tournament. Boise State and the Aggies will play at 5 p.m. on Friday.

PARKING

For weekday matches, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to first serve. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive. FRIDAY CONCESSIONS

Outside food and drink is permitted in Leavey Center for Friday's match only since concessions will not be sold during Friday's match. Outside food and drink is not permitted on Thursday/Saturday since concessions will be sold during those matches.
