Four Volleyball Players Recognized in WCC All-Academic Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Santa Clara's Chloe Loreen landed a spot on the 2018 West Coast Conference All-Academic Volleyball Team while Anna McCreadie, Taylor Odom and Gretchen Reinert earned honorable mention honors, announced by the WCC on Tuesday. The Broncos have at least four players recognized by the conference for their academic achievements in five straight seasons (since 2014).

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each conference-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.

Loreen, a sophomore mechanical engineering major with a 3.82 GPA, led the Broncos with 416 digs (3.85/set). She played in all 30 matches and all 108 sets. The libero posted 10-plus digs in 22 of 30 matches and reached the 20-dig mark six times.

McCreadie, a redshirt junior studying for a Master's in Counseling Psychology, posted a 3.98 GPA as an undergraduate student. Odom, a redshirt junior economics major with a 3.33 GPA, earned an all-academic honorable mention accolade for the second straight season. Reinert is a sophomore communication major with a 3.36 GPA.
