DAVIS, Calif. - On their final road trip of the 2009 season, the No. 20 Santa Clara women's water polo team could not come up on the winning end at No. 10 UC Davis Friday evening. SCU fell 8-3 to the tenth-ranked Northern California foe. The Broncos (16-15, 9-3 WWPA) kept pace with UCD in the first two quarters of play, but could not manage to garner the offensive advantage and suffered their first setback since April 5.

In the first quarter, sophomore Taylor Harkins and senior Claire Linney scored a goal apiece, in response to UC Davis' two-goal lead. At the end of the first two periods of play Davis led 3-2. After halftime and a close game at hand, the Aggies went on a 5-1 run to take their second victory over the Broncos this season. Scoring Santa Clara's third and final goal in the fourth period was Meg Zimmerman.

The Broncos close out the regular season with UC Santa Cruz on Saturday, April 18. In their final home game, SCU host their annual Senior Day celebration prior to their game at noon versus the Banana Slugs.
