Eight Broncos Named to GCC All-Academic TeamJuly 21, 2015Santa Clara women’s water polo had eight players named to the 2015 GCC Water Polo All-Academic Team. The team consists of members who carried a 3.0 cumulative GPA, played at lead 50 percent of the team’s contests during the spring season and classified as a full-time student who has completed a minimum of one semester or two quarters at her institution. The Broncos honored were Blair Akerland, Ashleigh Bandimere, Kathryn Burke, Cathy Cantoni, Keri Clifford, Julia Peters, Erin Sheridan, and Elle Surber.

Women's Water Polo Finishes Fifth in ConferenceApril 26, 2015At the GCC Championship, the No. 6 seed Bronco women’s water polo team finished with the fifth place win, finishing the weekend with a 2-1 record. The Broncos fell to the No. 2 seed, LMU, in their first game, but bounced back and won their next two games to claim the fifth place title. The Broncos ended the season with an overall record of 16-14.

GCC Championships Begin ThursdayApril 23, 2015The 2015 Golden Coast Conference Championships begin tomorrow, Thursday, April 23 from the University of the Pacific’s Chris Kjeldsen Pool. The tournament will continue on Friday with the semifinals at 1:30 and 3:00 pm, followed by the Championships Saturday on April 25. The title game is set for 2:30 pm.

Women's Water Polo Goes 1-1 In Final Games of Regular SeasonApril 20, 2015In their final two home games of the season, the Bronco women’s water polo team hosted conference rivals No. 17 Loyola Marymount and Azusa Pacific. The Broncos couldn’t top the Lions but ended their season on a high note, defeating the Cougars 14-6.

First Conference Game for Women's Water Polo Ends in LossMarch 29, 2015In their first official conference match-up of the season, the Bronco women’s water polo team took on No. 16 Pacific. The Tigers outscored the Broncos in the second quarter, 7-1, which sealed the deal and gave them the 13-6 win.

On March 28, the Broncos are set to play Bay Area rival, the No.18 Pacific Tigers at 12 pm in their home pool. This will be the second time this season the two teams have matched up.

No. 20 Women's Water Polo Falls to No. 2 Stanford; Sweeps all Four Games at Cal Lutheran InvitationalMarch 02, 2015The No. 20 women's water polo team went 4-1, only losing to No. 2 Stanford on Feb. 26. The Broncos then traveled down to Thousand Oaks, Calif. and swept all four of their games at the Cal Lutheran Invitational. The team improved to 11-5 on the season.

Sydni Estrella Named GCC Co-Player of the WeekFebruary 26, 2015Picking up two home wins over the weekend, including one over No. 11 Indiana, the Bronco women’s water polo team broke into the top-20 for the first time this season, coming in at No. 20. And there was more good news on Thursday. After boosting the Broncos defense in both games, junior goalie Sydni Estrella has been named Golden Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week (Feb. 26).
