Harvard Tops No. 20 Women's Water Polo

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The No. 20 women's water polo team fell short in the home game match-up against Harvard on March 22. The team is now 12-9 and will head into conference match-ups for the remainder of the season.

The Crimson started the game off on the right foot, going on a four-goal run to take the lead. Elle Surber put in one goal for the Broncos with just 30 seconds left in the first quarter, but the Crimson finished out the quarter with the 4-1 lead and never looked back.

After battling much of the second quarter, Julia Peters found the back of the net, bringing the Broncos within two. The Crimson went on a three goal run to make it 7-2 going into the half.

The Broncos only scored two more goals the rest of the game, on in the third quarter by Susan Providenza and one in the fourth by Elizabeth Anderson. The Crimson left the pool with the 14-4 win.

The final six games of the season for the Broncos are all conference match-ups, starting on March 28 against the University of the Pacific. Pacific is the Golden Coast Conference Championship host this season, and those games will begin on April 23.
