HAYWARD, Calif. - Auriel Bill scored three goals, including two in the final quarter, to help Cal State East Bay escape with an 11-10 win over Santa Clara women's water polo on Saturday.

Bill snapped a 10-all tie with 3:10 left and the Pioneers defense held the Broncos to two attempts after the go-ahead goal.

Santa Clara (1-2) had a chance to tie with the man advantage in the final minute, but Gabi Sicat's shot was blocked.

Hannah Buck and Hailey Eberle each scored three times for the Broncos (1-2) who led for much of the first half, including twice by two goals.

Buck induced four kickouts by Cal State East Bay (2-1), but the Broncos were unable to convert on any of their nine power plays.

Makenna Nation posted 11 blocks for Cal State East Bay while Santa Clara's Lydia Dadd was credited with a career-high 12 saves.

The Pioneers, who went 0-for-6 with the man advantage, forged ahead 8-6 early in the third quarter on goals from Brittany Smith and Leilani Vazquez.

Buck tied the game at 10-all with 6 minutes left in the game, but Nation followed up with saves on the following two Santa Clara possessions. Bill scored shortly after the expiration of an exclusion on Cal State East Bay's Ivanna Anderson.
