SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's water polo team travels to Indiana for the two-day, four-game Indiana Classic, starting on Saturday.

Santa Clara (7-7) faces Marist (3-9) at 9:15 a.m. Pacific and Indiana (12-3) at 5 p.m. on the opening day.

"Besides Indiana, we will have a chance to play three teams that we have not seen this year," said head coach Keith Wilbur. "We played Marist in the Triton Tournament last year, and that should be a good matchup."

On Sunday, the Broncos play Mercyhurst (4-1) at 6:15 a.m. and Washington & Jefferson (0-1) at 10 a.m.

"It is a really short turnaround after playing five games last weekend, so training this week will be more focused on recovering, and then building on fundamentals that we have already learned up to this point in the season," said Wilbur.

Santa Clara had a tough, 8-7, loss against the Hoosiers last weekend in the Santa Clara Invitational.

"We had a good game with Indiana on Sunday, and we will see them again next week," said Wilbur. "They're a really good team, and it's going to be fun to have that matchup again where both teams know each other a little better."

Kelly Frumkin had two goals and Annie Eldredge scored once and tallied three assists for the Broncos in the meeting against the Hoosiers.

Wilbur noticed Santa Clara's strong team-dynamic during the Santa Clara Invitational.

"I saw all of our players being positive and rooting each other on, and we want to keep that going," said Wilbur. "We play better and have more fun when everybody has that team first mentality."

Santa Clara sees the weekend in Bloomington as a valuable opportunity to play in and experience a new environment.

"Last time we went to Indiana was 10 years ago, so nobody on this team has been there," said Wilbur. "It's a great opportunity to go to a new campus, see a cool college town with a lot of history, and be able to experience a different part of the country. It's going to be a fun trip."
