Women’s Water Polo Plays Two in Fresno This Week

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara continues its stretch of five straight on the road this week while heading back into Golden Coast Conference action.

The Broncos (10-11, 1-1) will make a brief road trip to the San Joaquin Valley for a pair of games, facing Fresno State on Wednesday and Fresno Pacific the following day.

FSU (3-13, 0-2) is in its inaugural season of NCAA competition and became the eighth women's member of the GCC. The Broncos edged the Bulldogs, 7-6, on Feb. 17, at the Aggie Shootout.

Fresno Pacific (8-13) was a member of the GCC until last season and now plays in the Western Water Polo Association. Santa Clara defeated the Sunbirds twice last season, including a 5-3 triumph in the fifth-place contest in the GCC Championship.

The Broncos have dropped their last two games after winning three in a row.

They play at Loyola Marymount (April 6) and Azusa Pacific (April 7) in a pair of GCC games before having two of their final three regular season contests at home.

NOTES
Lydia Dadd, Hailey Eberle, Maggie Oys, Hannah Buck and Annie Eldredge have started all 21 games this season. In addition, Maddy Gomes, Kelly Frumkin and Gabi Sicat have seen action in every contest.
• Buck leads the team in both goals (29) and kickouts drawn (42). She has two or more goals in six outings, including a career-high six against Cal State Monterey Bay (Jan. 27).
• Eberle is tied for second on the team in goals (23) and first in both assists (25) and steals (24).
• Eldredge is second on the team in assists with 23 and ranks tied for third in goals (23). She has scored in all but four games this year, including a career-high tying three on vs. Cal State East Bay (March 17).
• Frumkin is fourth on the team with 17 goals, including 10 in the last eight contests, tied for third in assists (13) and third in steals (14).
• Dadd has double digit blocks in seven games, including a career-high 20 against Sonoma State (Feb. 11).
